About the Development Code
The Development Code is the set of regulations that guide how development should occur in Clark County. This includes zoning and subdivision standards, among others. Adopted in 2000, the current Development Code has been amended numerous times over the past 20 years, and as a result of numerous piecemeal updates, the Development Code is challenging to use and administer. Also, with the recent adoption of the Clark County Master Plan, the Code is no longer aligned to accomplish the Plan's new goals and policies.

One goal of the Development Code rewrite is re-align the Code to support the Master Plan. The rewrite also provides an opportunity to organize standards and regulations so that citizens, developers, and county staff and decision-makers know what is expected of any development proposal. Completing this rewrite in conjunction with the Master Plan adoption will help ensure that —moving forward— the County’s policies and regulations will work hand in hand.
